Story:
Lightning McQueen has built his entire identity around winning, treating every relationship and every moment off the track as a distraction from the championship race he racing toward. A wrong turn off the highway strands him in a forgotten town along old Route 66 that modern interstate left behind decades earlier, and a minor act of property damage gets him sentenced to repaving the road he wrecked before he can leave. Stuck among residents who have interest in his fame and a tow truck eager to befriend him whether he wants it or not, McQueen starts learning the history of a town that used to matter before speed and shortcuts made it obsolete. As the date of his championship tiebreaker race approaches, he has to decide whether getting back to his old life still means as much as it used to.
