Story:
Luca Paguro is a young, timid sea monster living off the coast of the Italian town of Portorosso His parents strictly forbid him from visiting the surface, warning him of the dangerous “land monsters.” However Luca’s curiosity wins when he meets Alberto Scorfano, a rebellious teenage sea monster living on a nearby island. Alberto shows Luca a magical secret: sea monsters instantly transform into humans when dry, but reveal their true forms when wet.
Dreaming of freedom and owning a Vespa the two boys venture into Portorosso. There, they befriend Giulia, a spirited human girl, and her father Massimo, a sea monster hunter. To buy a Vespa, they enter the Cup triathlon, which involves swimming, eating pasta, and cycling As they train Luca grows closer to Giulia, sharing her passion for astronomy and school. This sparks jealousy in Alberto, who fears losing his best friend.
